Happy Birthday Charlie Gaines!

This past year has been more wonderful than we ever imagined it to be! I was thinking tonight how last year I was laying in the hospital bed looped out on pain pills and eating Taramuhara for dinner. I actually can't say I remember eating. I was trying to focus on the "middle" TV, I was seeing 3 of them from the medicine! But what I do remember is the unconditional love that I felt for little Charlie. He was so tiny that his little skin looked like it was falling off of his knees! And the little sweet sounds that he made, and the way we would just stare at him in amazement that God picked us to be his parents. What an incredible gift. Okay, okay I guess you can see I am emotional about him turning ONE. It is so bittersweet! I am so thankful for every minute, excited that we are out of certain phases and thrilled to see what is next! Enjoy the little recap of his first year. All Boy!

It was so beautiful outside today and Stevie was working hard in the back yard. Charlie didn't want to miss out on all the fun.

He was filthy! His knees and feet were black from the wet dirt and he just LOVED it! We went straight to the bath when we went inside!

Fowl Mood...

Last night (30th) I had to work late and they changed the night of trick or treating in Norman to last night because of the OU game... Yes, you heard it right. Stevie got Charlie dressed in his costume and then put his own costume on (see below) Charlie did NOT like this! He didn't like having his own costume on or seeing his dad dressed as a fog horn leg horn look alike. So we decided to try again today and he loved it! He wore his costume to Ga Ga and Papa's house, Brandi and Blake's house, he went to see his Great Mimi and the entire Spencer/Niebur crew. Needless to say he was one tired chicky chicky boo tonight. Happy Halloween everyone!

A week from today this baby chick will be ONE YEAR OLD! I can't believe it!

Happy Fall Ya'll

So we went to the pumpkin patch in hopes that our happiest boy would take the cutest pictures. He really does LOVE getting his picture taken... however, the sun was really bright and he is starting to take after his dad by having his eyes shut in EVERY picture! Here are some of the unsuccessful and successful pictures that I got!




OK OK, enough of the bad pics! We did get some really cute ones at the pumpkin patch. He wasn't looking at the camera, and of course the cutest one we got was in our front yard. Imagine that! Meeting Minnesota

Charlie got to meet his Auntie Dawn, Uncle Bill and sweet cousin Adelle this past weekend. They drove all the way from Minnesota! Long drive, short trip, but well worth it!

Charlie 11 Months!

Here he is! Most of his pictures are in his high chair so I can trap him! He is such a ham, he bats his eyes and smiles when he sees the camera, it is really funny to see!

Laid back! I was folding clothes one day and he was being so quiet, so I looked in his little play corner and this is what I found. Lounging and playing with a toy. It cracked me up. I can't believe that his birthday is right around the corner. I really feel like I just had this sweet baby He is so much fun!

10 Months!

Charlie and his daddy and grandpa on the first OU game of the season... too bad the outcome was horrible!

Charlie is so inquisitive about everything and is so much like his daddy. He will just study how wheels turn or how a noise is coming out of a toy. The above picture is actually the first in this little series of pics. He is really studying this piece of grass that he picked, then was putting it to his lips and then as you can see, in the mouth it went!

He is a super fast crawler now and he really only started really crawling about 2 weeks ago. He is already starting to pull up, so I am sure he will be on his feet in no time. I am in no hurry however!

9 Months...

I know this is so mean, but Stevie and I were CRACKING up putting sweet Charlie's face in these yearbook pictures. You should totally try it, I had tears running down my face!

LOVING his bath still and now he has enough hair that I can do silly things with it!

This is his 9 month birthday and he seems REALLY excited!

HE REALLY WANTS TO CRAWL... He just can't quite go forward yet.
